IoT Water Monitoring Platform

The challenge

Farmers had no continuous visibility into water levels on their weirs and ponds, and no way to know when a level moved far enough to need attention.

What we built

We wrote the device firmware and built the web application farmers use to read their data, with 67 deployed devices reporting measurements every five minutes into a central database and a transformation pipeline that prepares them for display. An alerting layer texts a farmer’s phone when a water level crosses a threshold. We also automated the software side of device deployment, cutting it from four hours to three minutes.
